FOLLOW-UP Frequent follow-ups are not indicated unless a surgery procedure is performed.
ADDITIONAL LAB | TESTS Fluorescein dye disappearance test
ETIOLOGY Congenital (duct over valve of Hasner) or age-related
DIFFERENTIAL DX Conjunctivitis | punctal agenesis | dacryocele
NOTES The majority of congenital cases spontaneously resolve by age 1
