SYMPTOMS Blurry vision | Discomfort from corneal erosions
SIGNS Subepithelial/stromal dots or branching/filamentous lines | Usually the periphery is clear | Possible corneal erosions
WORK-UP Thorough history. Slit lamp examination
TREATMENT Observation | Lubrication for corneal erosions | Corneal transplant in advanced cases
FOLLOW-UP Every 6-12 months
ADDITIONAL LAB | TESTS None
ETIOLOGY Inherited (autosomal dominant)
DIFFERENTIAL DX Macular dystrophy | Granular dystrophy
NOTES LD involves amyloid deposition | LD can recur after corneal transplant | LD has different subtypes
