SIGNS Stromal, white, “crumb-like” opacities | Usually the periphery is clear | Corneal erosions are rare
WORK-UP Thorough history. Slit lamp examination
TREATMENT Observation | Lubrication for corneal erosions | Corneal transplant in advanced cases
FOLLOW-UP Every 6-12 months
ADDITIONAL LAB | TESTS None
ETIOLOGY Inherited (autosomal dominant)
DIFFERENTIAL DX Macular dystrophy | Lattice dystrophy
NOTES GD involves hyaline deposition | GD can recur after corneal transplant | GD has different subtypes
