SIGNS Guttae | Stromal edema | Descemet folds | Epithelial bullae | Scarring in advanced cases
WORK-UP Thorough history | Slit lamp examination | Endothelial cell count (specular microscopy) | Pachymetry
TREATMENT Muro 128 (sodium chloride 5%) drops and/or ointment | Endothelial keratoplasty
FOLLOW-UP Annually if mild | 3-6 months if advanced
ADDITIONAL LAB | TESTS Endothelial cell count (specular microscopy) | Pachymetry
ETIOLOGY There is a genetic predisposition (autosomal dominant)
DIFFERENTIAL DX Congenital hereditary endothelial dystrophy | ICE syndrome | Posterior polymorphous corneal dystrophy | Bullous keratopathy
