INDICATIONS Reduction of elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.
MECHANISM OF ACTION alpha-2 agonist | Bimatoprost is believed to lower IOP in humans by increasing outflow of aqueous humor through both the trabecular meshwork (conventional) and uveoscleral routes (unconventional).
MICROBIOLOGY Unknown at this time
CONTRAINDICATIONS & WARNINGS Durysta is contraindicated in patients with ocular or periocular infections, corneal endothelial cell dystrophy, prior corneal transplantation, absent or ruptured posterior lens capsule, and hypersensitivity to components of the product.
PEDIATRIC USE Safety and effectiveness of DURYSTA in pediatric patients have not been established.
PREGNANCY Pregnancy category C |There are no adequate and well-controlled studies of DURYSTA (bimatoprost intracameral implant) administration in pregnant women to inform a drug associated risk.
