INDICATIONS Reduction of elevated intraocular pressure (IOP)
MECHANISM OF ACTION Selective B1 receptor blocker
MICROBIOLOGY The predominant mechanism of ocular hypotensive action of topical beta-adrenergic blocking agents is likely due to a reduction in aqueous humor production.
CONTRAINDICATIONS & WARNINGS Hypersensitivity to any component of this product. BETOPTIC Ophthalmic Solution is contraindicated in patients with sinus bradycardia, greater than a first degree atrioventricular block, cardiogenic shock, or patients with overt cardiac failure.
PEDIATRIC USE Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients have not been established.
PREGNANCY There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women.
NOTE Betoptic S is the suspension (Shake well before use)
