DOSAGE Conjunctivitis/Cornea keratitis:1 cm strip in conjunctival sac qD to TID x 7 days. Consider Maxitrol when inflammation control is needed.
Anterior Blepharitis: Apply directly to the lid margin (Clean) qDay to TID

INDICATIONS For the treatment of superficial ocular infections involving the conjunctiva and/or cornea caused by Bacitracin susceptible organisms. Commonly prescribed for anterior blepharitis and as a pre-surgical prophylactic regimen.
MECHANISM OF ACTION Polypeptide bacteriocidal
MICROBIOLOGY Blocks bacterial cell wall synthesis. Exerts a profound action against many gram-positive pathogens, including the common Streptococci and Staphlococci. It is also destructive for certain gram-negative organisms. It is ineffective against fungi.
CONTRAINDICATIONS & WARNINGS Not be used in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to Bacitracin. Allergenicity is "practically non-existent"

PREGNANCY Pregnancy Category C
